Support proven strategies to help more students graduate high school. City Year AmeriCorps members focus on key early warning indicators to monitor student progress, so that the right students receive the right interventions at the right time ensuring that more students graduate ready for college and career success. Program Sponsors support teams of corps members and their service in math, literacy, attendance, social-emotional learning, extended day programming, or one-on-one relationship building.
"The impact that City Year has on students and teachers is striking, leading to increased attendance, stronger academic performance and better behavior in school. Because of this impact, it's easy to want to support City Year. By holding themselves to the highest standards, by taking on our nation's most pressing challenge, and most importantly, by delivering results, City Year is changing lives across our country every day, and Bain Capital couldn't be more proud to join with all of you in supporting this remarkable organization."
-Jonathan Lavine, Co-Managing Partner, Bain Capital
"City Year is an organization that is "doing something about it." It’s a phrase that matters a lot to me. I call a lot of people in this world "problem admirers," who sure like to point out problems and talk about them but they really don’t do much else. I like people who engage in making our city of Boston and our society a better place for all, like City Year Boston."
-Jim Rooney, President & CEO of Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce
Corporate Service Opportunities
Our service model is developed around the idea that a student’s educational experience is defined by a variety of factors, in addition to academics. Are students getting to school on time? Do they know they have someone to talk to? Are they engaged in and inspired by learning? In addition to the academic supports City Year Boston provides, teams of corps members in schools partner with leadership to help foster a welcoming, positive school climate.
The Boston Civic Engagement Team is an extension of that service. Seven second-year AmeriCorps members organize and lead service projects across Boston, brightening school hallways with a fresh coat of paint, beautifying walls with inspirational murals, and providing students and classrooms with valuable resources to enhance their school experience.
Our volunteer engagement program brings together than 2,500 professionally-managed volunteers each year. If your company is interested in participating in a service event with City Year Boston, please reach out to Alexandra Montgomery O’Connor at email@example.com.
City Year Boston hosts several events that convene hundreds of professionals from the Greater Boston area.
