This year is almost over, so let’s take a moment to reflect on some of 2017’s most notable moments.

January 9-12 - Mid-Year Summit

AmeriCorps members took some time to learn, reflect and plan for their Leadership After City Year (LACY) plans.
Big thanks to Beaver Street Fisheries for donating their space to us!

January 16 – Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service

We welcomed volunteers from the community to serve with us at Jean Ribault High School. Shout out to Acosta who sponsors the team that serves there every day!

March 4 – Magic of City Year, Gala

We invited community members, stakeholders, and partners out to join us on a magical Harry Potter inspired train ride that Jacksonville has never seen before!

June 2 – City Year Jacksonville Graduation

We said good-bye to another corps, but hello to a new group of educators, activists, students and mentors ready to begin their LACY’s!

July 10 – 14 – Summer Academy

This year at Summer Academy, we were oh so proud of our very own Vice President and Executive Director, Dan Foley on being awarded the Comcast NBC Universal, Leadership Award!

July 24 – August 4 – Basic Training Academy

We welcomed a new cohort of AmeriCorps members, ready to serve in the Jacksonville Community for the 2017-2018 School Year – our Fifth Anniversary Corps!

August 15 – First Day of School

We were so thrilled to be returning to all 12 of our partner schools for another powerful year of service.

September 13 – 16 – Hurricane Irma Relief

City Year Jacksonville proudly rallied together to support our community post Hurricane Irma by doing disaster relief service all throughout the city.

November 12 – Honor Rows

For the fourth year in a row, we took students to the Jacksonville Jaguars game courtesy of The Jaguars Foundation, Honor Rows program. This year we took students from eight of our schools for a fun filled day and a Jags win!

Of course there are tons more of memorable moments from 2017, this is just to name a few. Huge thanks to our partners all across the community and our amazing AmeriCorps Members who make this work possible every day! We are grateful for ALL YOU DO to #MAKEBETTERHAPPEN.

Wishing you each a new year of abundance, happiness, and service to others. Thank you for being a part of the City Year Jacksonville family of supporters.
