On Tuesday, August 4, as a welcome gift to our 100 idealistic AmeriCorps Members, the largest City Year Jacksonville corps to date, Team Sponsor Wells Fargo generously sponsored a lunch for the cohort and staff! Wells Fargo has supported City Year Jacksonville as a Team Sponsor since our founding, three years ago. Now in our fourth year, we’ve grown from a cohort of 20 AmeriCorps members serving 2 schools to 100 serving 10 schools!
Our Wells Fargo sponsored lunch also provided us the opportunity to wish one of our City Year Champions good luck as she begins an incredible career opportunity. Since day one, Christina Wooten, Learning and Development Facilitator for the Wells Fargo North Florida Region, has served as a champion in planning and executing employee activities that both boost the morale of our AmeriCorps and support our work with students. Whether dropping off incentive prizes raised from an employee supply drive, leading a training on personal budgeting and financing, or just stopping by the office to say “hi” and share a smile, it’s hard to overstate the commitment and love Christina has for every single City Year AmeriCorps Member. It is with deep joy that we had the opportunity to work closely with Christina these last three years.
"All the teams that have served at Ed White want to thank Christina for her amazing support these past couple of years. The one thing I appreciated the most from getting to work with her has been her immense appreciation for the sacrifice and hard work that our AmeriCorps Members are committed to during their year of service. She's a real City Year Champion, model citizen, and amazing friend," said Tom Sunchuk, Impact Manager of the Wells Fargo Team at Edward H. White High School.
Thank you for all your support Wells Fargo and Christina!
