Over President's Day weekend, RealD and City Year L.A. Board Member, Michael V. Lewis, invited City Year AmeriCorps members and nearly 300 high school students to a private screening of Marvel's Black Panther at the Regal movie theater at L.A. Live.

City Year AmeriCorps members and their students were treated like Wakandan royalty with their very own step-and-repeat, concessions provided by Regal, limited-edition Black Panther movie posters, and the opportunity to get up-close to a stunning life-size statue of The Black Panther himself, provided by Disney.

The emcee for the event was YouTube comedy sensation Andre "Black Nerd" Meadows (@BlackNerd). Before the theater was transported to T'Challa's fictional country of Wakanda, they were greeted with a personal video message from one of the film's star, Michael B. Jordan, who portrays Erik Killmonger.
