On February 21, Time Warner Cable employees and their family members gathered at Griffith Middle School to uplift the school campus with 15 murals, as well as plant fruits and vegetables for students to enjoy. Murals featured prominent figures in the community including Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, and Hilda Solis, as well as ones to inspire students in the STEM disciplines. One of the highlights of the day included the return of Griffith alums from both Time Warner Cable and City Year, who were excited to return and give back to their alma mater.
Time Warner Cable also supports City Year’s STEM efforts in the after school space at Virgil Middle School through their Connect a Million Minds program. Connect a Million Minds is Time Warner Cable’s commitment to encouraging youth to pursue STEM education.
